Not having to ask
Meta and Google are running ads with people asking their respective AI agents lots of questions. But the best agent won’t have to be asked. That is, it will behave like an attentive assistant, coach or caregiver—acting independently and anticipating needs, within boundaries set by the user.
Not having to ask an agent is of particular value to users with diminished self-agency.
A project from MIT Media Lab, where researchers tested an AI agent called Memoro, lends support to the queryless approach:
